About Paula Gent

My name is Paula Gent and I'm originally from Liverpool England. I live in the far north of Scotland close to John O'Groats. I have been working as a stevedore now for more than 5 years. I am also the area coordinator for the team of volunteers for the British Divers Marine Life Rescue Charity. Usually during winter months we get called out to rescue grey seal pups in distress. So I will be submitting a lot of photographs of what look like cute, cuddly toys!

I picked up a camera seriously for the first time in April 2006. I started shooting photographs to sell, with a Konica Minolta Z10. In September of 2006, I bought a second hand Nikon D70 and the lenses I have attained are a 28-80mm Nikkor, an 80-200mm Nikkor and a 100-400mm Opteka.

I love to shoot landscapes, nature, and anything else that catches my eye in the world around me. I am not experienced in post processing, so all of my shots, apart from brightness, contrast, color saturation, and noise, are directly from the camera. I can't do any of the clever isolations or turning some to black and white and some to color in the same image. So, what you see is what I saw too while taking the shot.
