About Jan

Jan lives in Australia on the outskirts of a large city, so she has the best of both worlds on her doorstep - wide open spaces where she lives, urban life just down the road, and some of Australia's best beaches within an hour's drive or less. She works full time in a school setting, and enjoys photography in the evenings and on weekends.

Photography has been an interesting journey for her over the past decade or so. Her first "real" camera, a Minolta film SLR, opened her eyes to the possibilities of photography and ignited a creative passion that has continued to grow. Since purchasing a Canon 350D, her interest has developed with the ability to create and manipulate, change and refine images in the "digital darkroom". She uses Lightroom and CS3 for her photographs and has recently ventured into illustrations and vector designs using Illustrator. Jan is fascinated by the possibilities, and finds it very satisfying to produce images that are in demand at the various stock agencies where she contributes - Shutterstock, Dreamstime, and iStockPhoto.
