Design Requirements Business Cards

Please review the following guidelines in order to properly set up your images to be used as Business Card Templates. In order to send us finished files, you need to follow the specifications outlined below. If you would like our artists to put your images into the proper format for you, please use the contribution form to contact us. Using the Template Upload feature is the fastest method to get your templates into the Featured Artists Community.

All of our instructions are based on Adobe Photoshop due to its extreme popularity. If you do not use Photoshop, please use whatever settings are similar in your program. Begin with a canvas that is 3.75 x 2.25 inches in size. Drag guides out of the rulers to 1/8th inch from each edge. This indicates the bleeds and allows you to keep track of where they are on the card.

1. Setting up your image properly.

After you are done ensure your image is in CMYK color mode.

2. Set the main save options.

Select save and change the format to tiff. Make sure you uncheck the layers and color profiles checkboxes.

3. Set the additional tiff options.

After you click on [save], this Window should come up. Please select LZW compression. You should also look at the layer compression area to ensure it is grayed out.

4. Upload your files.

Please follow these directions precisely as these files are going into an automated system. You can upload your finished files on the Template Upload page.

5. Fill out the Template Details.

Please use this area to describe the artwork, set the layout and other details about your template. The optional description is for customers to view. If they choose to view more details about your template, the text you enter here is what they will read..

6. Manage your templates.

The Manage Templates area allows you, the Artist, to update template descriptions, adjust templates and change the templates customers can view on our site.
