Photojournalism
Photojournalism originated back in the 19th century. However, the Golden Age of photojournalism didn't occur until a century later. Between the 1930s and the 1950s, the art of photojournalism bloomed.
It became an accepted art form and was made popular by print media like "Life", "Picture Post", and "Sports Illustrated." Photojournalists were even enlisted by the Federal government to document the impact that the Great Depression had on the agricultural industry and the people of the United States.
Photojournalism Organizations
There are several photojournalism organizations that you can belong to. One of the most prestigious photojournalism organizations in the United States is the National Press Photographers Association, which was founded in 1946.
