Photojournalism

Photojournalism originated back in the 19th century. However, the Golden Age of photojournalism didn't occur until a century later. Between the 1930s and the 1950s, the art of photojournalism bloomed.

It became an accepted art form and was made popular by print media like "Life", "Picture Post", and "Sports Illustrated." Photojournalists were even enlisted by the Federal government to document the impact that the Great Depression had on the agricultural industry and the people of the United States.

Photojournalism Organizations

There are several photojournalism organizations that you can belong to. One of the most prestigious photojournalism organizations in the United States is the National Press Photographers Association, which was founded in 1946. When designing a photojournalism themed business card it is a good idea to include information about the professional organizations that you belong to. In addition to printing that you belong to a professional organization; you can also feature the organization's logo image in your business card's design.

Digital Photojournalists

One of the latest genres of photojournalism is digital journalism. Photojournalists that specialize in digital images have a professional advantage over film photojournalists because they can take their photos and upload them to their company's system in a matter of seconds. This helps the journalist and the news publication to get the jump on their competition and to expedite the rate at which information is translated from real time activity to the public.

When designing your business card you will want to use a digital photo image. You can either use a photograph that you have taken, or you can use one of ours. Try to use a graphic that captures the focus of your field specialty.

Local Newspapers

Most local newspapers have their own staff of photojournalists. If you are a photojournalist for a local paper then you will need to focus your business card's design on two things.

First you will need to focus your business card's design on the newspaper that you work for. Some papers will have a business card template already designed for their employees. If this is the case, then you can upload their template to our system, and we can help you to develop a great looking business card using their template. If your company doesn't provide a template then you can incorporate the papers font style, logo or company color scheme into the design of your business card.

The second focus your business card will need to have is photojournalism. After all, this is what you do. You can incorporate this focus into your business card's design by featuring a photograph that you have taken, or by using one of our photojournalism themed graphics. You will also want to include professional information like awards, training, and citations that you have received for your work. If you have recently won a prestigious award, then you may want to print a special announcement about this award on the back of your business card.
