About Cecilia Sherry
As a lifelong resident of the southwest I've always had a strong appreciation for its history and culture. Living in the southwest, experiencing its primordial scenery and the colors that shape and inspire; these things are reflected in my art. My enthusiasm for the use of vibrant color is expressed in the multi media I work in: acrylics, watercolor, photography, beadwork, computer graphics and mosaic tile. I'm always researching and learning new and different uses of art media. I attempt to create art that the observer can relate to emotionally at some level.
I have a passion for color and design with an endless pursuit of artistic expression and interpretation. My art is largely abstract and punctuated with color, often it is geometric. I surround myself with art, animals, nature and music which keep me grounded, always inspired and spiritually connected.
Cecilia has studied art in many different schools in Colorado, including the Rocky Mountain School of Art, Front Range Community College (photography) and The Arvada Center for the Performing Arts (acrylic and watercolor). She has also studied jewelry design and gemology with Hal Leith, a master gemologist, metalsmithing with Christine Grininger, a member of the Colorado Metalsmith Artists/Quantarus. Cecilia is also a member of the Westminster Arts Group.
